Where are you now?

Eurovision Preview Party at the Scala
Probably you are at home, at work, lamenting the end of the weekend and looking forward to exciting events in the future.

In 27 days, you will (hopefully) be in Putney for EUROfiasco 2009. Yes, it really is less than a month away. The season isn’t so much as upon us, as full-on in-your-face amongst the very souls of our being. How fabulous!

There are 42 songs to get to know, favourites to pick, and costumes to select. Words to learn, warbling to perfect.

The 30-day countdown was properly kicked off on Friday night with the Eurovision Preview Party at The Scala - which you can read more about, and see a portion of a manic Ukrainian performance, by clicking here (and, as the pic above shows, Imaani was about to pop a baby out while Dame Nicki French was fabulous as always).

Today’s been spent watching videos of this year’s entrants - an illuminating process that’s helping us work out which songs are amazing, which are bizarre and which are downright dull.

We’ll be drawing countries from the hat next weekend, to make sure everyone has enough time to get their act together on their theming! So look out for an email/post with news of who’s getting who, in just over a week’s time.

As such... if you’ve RSVPd to the invite, then many thanks and, hopefully, it was in the affirmative and we’ll see you on the 16th (or earlier for the semi-finals). If you’ve not RSVP’d yet, then do drop us a quick line either by email or by responding to the Facebook invite, so we know whether to pop you into the hat!
