And just like that... another year has passed and we are headed to Eurovision in less than a week. Crikey!
Last night we had our Flag-Waving, and revealed our Top 10, as voted by us on Maundy Thursday. You can see the result on the right - and, shock horror, it's a new format. Now that the official Eurovision app can generate these things, I'm afraid we've co-opted that format!
There was a tie for our second place (sue us if you like, it's our rules). But our joint winner and absolute banging favourite was Sweden - once again they've sent a belter and we will be getting our life for it on the Euroclub floor no question. Whether or not it can triumph against the Finnish juggernaut we shall see - it's not tipped to, but I hope this can lock in yet another top 5 for Sweden at least.
We had 3 outsiders - Bulgaria, Romania and Norway.
The wisdom of the crowd in the room at Flag-Waving was also a win for Sweden, with the mediterranean vibes of Cyprus taking the silver medal spot and Bulgaria behind. Australia and Finland didn't seem to do it for our guests... what does that mean for the contest itself?
Spotify here, btw; and YouTube too.
Right - a few days of work, then we're off to Vienna. Good luck everybody, including of course Look Mum No Computer (whose song seemed to be well received by the Flag-Wavers... we shall see if the public at large can be persuaded to pick up the metaphorical phone and spin us some points this year!)
